Went to town with Mr. MacDonnell in the car, and drove home myself. I had a fine spin. Mickie, the carpenter, and all of us went to the lake after dinner to fix up the moorings of the ‘Úna’. It took us three hours to uncoil the wire, and fix it on the buoy. We had several trips to and fro in the meantime. After tea the ‘Úna’ was brought up, and with my waders I launched her. Mr. MacDonnell then arrived and soon everything was shipshape. Found Mrs. MacDonnell had arrived from Cork, where Mammie was repeating part of her recital at Mrs. Stockley’s. Father Pat was also to read a lecture, and Mrs. Stockley to sing, but he did not turn up, and Mrs. Stockley had a very severe cold, so only Mammie played. There were a great many people there, and Mrs. MacDonnell said Mammie played really beautifully. Talked about ghosts till 10.30 and were all very shaky going to bed.
